Optimal Ketone Zone
To fully experience the metabolic benefits of keto-adaptation, you need to limit carbohydrates and keep protein intake moderate so blood ketone levels can rise.
Blood tests for ketones measure the concentration of beta-hydroxybutyrate (BOHB). As a part of Meru Advanced, you should have a home blood testing device (Keto Mojo) that assesses BOHB in blood obtained from a finger stick.
Optimal Blood Ketone Levels

In people eating a typical high-carb diet (>100 g/day), ketone levels rarely exceed 0.2 mmol/L.
You will aim to be in optimal ketosis (ketone levels between 1–5). This is the level where you have beneficial effects, and side effects are mild.
